JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To implement applicable public health activities relating to malaria elimination, pest control, waste management and disease control.
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
1. Open up drains, de-silt and de-vegetate existing drains and streams.
2. Spraying against mosquitoes and other pests.
3. Treatment of mosquito breeding sites by application of chemicals.
4. Clean and decontaminate assigned areas to curtail disease transmission.
5. Collection of waste from generation points with the health facilities.
6. Action pest control requests.
7. Adhere to Safe Work Procedures and use appropriate PPE in the execution of tasks.
8. Identify work related hazard & report all work related defects and incidents.
9. Participate in task risk assessments.
10. Adhere to routine and periodical medical examination.
11. Participate in all HSEQ awareness programmes.
12. Complete daily activity reports and registers.
13. Compile spraying returns.
14. Handling and application of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or other chemicals required for public health interventions.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Grade 12 certificate
2. Basic understanding of spraying equipment and tools, their uses, and maintenance requirements
3. Experience in a similar position will be an added advantage

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
