Job Opportunity
• Zambart, formerly Zambia AIDS Related Tuberculosis (ZAMBART) is a research-focused non-governmental organisation that conducts research on HIV and Tuberculosis to help control and mitigate the impact of the dual epidemic. Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science, laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health policy analysis, health economics, health communication and counselling.
• STI Prevalence Survey in Lusaka, Zambia

Summary
• Collecting information on the prevalence of STIs across representative populations is essential to advocate, fund, plan, and implement interventions for STI prevention and control. This study will contribute data to describe the national STI epidemic in Zambia and regional STI epidemics in southern Africa. A cross-sectional population-based survey will be carried out in Chawama, a high-density urban setting in Zambia, to measure the prevalence of curable STIs (CT, NG, TV, and syphilis) among 15–24-year-olds.
• Position Title: Study Co-ordinator
• Reports to: Principal Investigator
• The primary role of the Study Coordinator is to oversee and coordinate the implementation of the survey activities within the study community.

Roles and responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and supervise study team.
• Coordinate the study including supervision of the data collection and research assistants.
• Track progress of survey activities and clinic level and provide appropriate timely feedback to the PI.
• Identify and address gaps/weaknesses in the implementation of the survey and suggest a plan for addressing gaps to the study manager.
• Conduct timely assessment to ensure that study targets are being met by study staff and stakeholders.
• Work closely with MoH authorities and partners and maintain effective collaborations.
• Consolidate monthly reports from study specific activities and other implementing partners in a timely fashion.
• Regularly meet with survey staff.
• Ensure that all required supplies are available.
• Check that all EDCs are available and in good working condition on a daily basis.
• Check for correctness and completeness of data collection per day and provide necessary feedback to the teams.
• Conduct weekly quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) testing as per SOPs and provide report to the PI on a weekly basis.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the PI.

Minimum requirements:
• Bsc degree/diploma in Nursing or Clinical Medicine
• A minimum of 2 years work experience.
• Experience working in sexual health including STI screening, diagnosis and treatment.
• Experience with coordination of community-based research studies
• Has extensive knowledge of the community.
• Strong communications skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Proven problem-solving skills and exceptional stakeholder relations with both internal and external parties.
• Strong supervisory and commodity management skills.
• Well organized and self-directed individual with sound technical skills.
• Good judgement with analytical ability and operations focus.
• Should have high ethical standards.
• Experience in managing Research Assistants will be an added advantage.
This appointment is a 1-year contract.
