Purpose
• To supervise all training activities, both internal and external, carried out by the KMP Training department, to ensure quality, relevance and efficacy of training.
• To supervise the management of INX InTuition and +LMS software packages, and to ensure that accurate records are kept of all training conducted.
• To liaise with the relevant departments and stakeholders to install and maintain effective integrations with the HR and Security databases.
• To supervise the activities of the Training Administration section.
• To supervise traineeships for all students and interns sponsored by the company whilst they are on site, and to supervise systems for selection of trainees.
• To supervise all employee development programmes.
• To report regularly on the above to the Training Manager, and carry out other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

Key Responsibilities
• Employee Training,
• To supervise all activities of the training department, both internal and external, and both on and off site, including scheduling of training events in response to departments’ requirements; delivery of training and assessments thereof; and recording of training participation, completion and certification.
• Employee Development.
• To supervise the various development programmes including formulating and/or editing the programme packages and syllabi as required, selection processes and procedures and all matters to completion and certification.
• To identify gaps and supervise upskilling of employees within the KMP Training department in order that they may better serve the training needs of the business.
• Administration and Training Records and Data Management.
• To understand the functions and responsibilities of your direct reports, and be in a position to cover for them and/or make sure cover is provided whenever necessary.
• To ensure that the database (InTuition) is effectively supervised and updated with training records timeously, to ensure accuracy and integrity of the information stored.
• To ensure effective and accurate automated training reporting to all stakeholders, enabling the reduction and elimination of non-compliance on site, thereby assisting with raising safety standards and reducing incidents.
• To Liaise with relevant stakeholders to integrate the Training database with the Security database particularly with respect to Contractors and Visitors.
• To ensure that the administration of the training department is effectively and efficiently supervised.
• Training for relevant persons (in both Training and all other departments) in the use of INX software.
• To supervise the Learner Tracking database to ensure that its records are up to date and correct.
• Training Systems
• E-Learning. To supervise the e-Learning developers to ensure that relevant quality modules are designed so that, where possible, classroom led training is enhanced and/or replaced by online training.
• Trainees.
• To supervise learners (excepting Kwambula students) whilst on site to ensure that their activities are properly monitored and recorded, and relevant to their studies/trade.
• To supervise the development and/or advancement of policies governing the recruitment of all learners and terms of their programmes, including new learners, sponsorships, internships and study assistance.
• To assist with budgeting and tracking of expenditure for all learners.

Qualifications
• Degree, preferably in an engineering discipline relevant to the mining industry.
• Teaching qualification in Further & Adult Education.
• A working knowledge of writing reports in Power BI is an advantage.
• A working knowledge of the use of MS SQL Server Management Studio is an advantage.
• A working knowledge of the use of Articulate Storyline is an advantage.

Experience
Required:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the training department of a large company, preferably in the mining industry.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge and experience of the use of video editing and capturing software.

Desirable:
• Experience of delivering training sessions in a college or workplace based training institute.
• Familiarity with Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and xAPI.
• Experience using InTuition.
• Experience using Pronto.
