Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit highly committed and passionate employees for the position of Supervisor Civil Works to join the versatile LPDC team.
Reporting to the Projects and Contracts Coordinator (LMC), your duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Participates in the development of goals and objectives for the section to ensure compliance with Township and Lumwana Mining policy directives, overall LPDC goals and objectives.
• Ability to manage contractor performance to ensure projects works are delivered to specification and agreed constraints.
• Monitors the section budget by reviewing past expenditures, determining future needs, and making determinations regarding the necessary resources to accomplish departmental goals.
• To undertake Health, Safety and Environment monitoring in all site projects.
• Responds to LMC and residents’ issues to determines and implement appropriate solutions partnering civil works.
• Responsible for monitoring all equipment under projects to ensure that they are properly and safely utilized.
• Develop and nurture interdepartmental and LMC relationships to foster cooperation and support to Mining and Township works.

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in Civil engineering/ Building Construction / Quantity Surveying or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Minimum of (5) years’ experience in Construction and Maintenance operations in a similar capacity.
• Ability to negotiate with stakeholder to ensure values and strategic goals of Lumwana Mine and LPDC are achieved.
• Technical skills in designing, interpreting drawings, planning, and preparation of BOQs. AUTOCAD knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft project, word, and spreadsheets.
• Registered member of The Engineering Institution of Zambia.
• Must have a driver’s license.
