JSH is implementing the USAID Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Populations
(CHEKUPII) Activity which was awarded on September 13, 2022, with implementation through September 6, 2027. The Activity aims to support the Ministry of Health in mitigating against and attaining HIV epidemic control by increasing equitable access to, and use of person-centered, community-driven, and high-quality HIV prevention services for key and underserved (priority) populations. USAID CHEKUP II Activity operates in seven districts with the highest HIV-burden in Zambia. USAID CHEKUP II Activity seeks dynamic and highly experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions.

14. POSITION NUMBER FOURTEEN

Position: Supply Chain Coordinator
Location: Lusaka (1 Position)
Duration: Full-Time position
Reports to: Advisor – Key Populations

1. Role’s Purpose:
The Supply Chain Coordinator will provide support to USAID CHEKUP II Service Delivery Points and the commercial sector at district level to ensure consistent supply of HIV/AIDS and TB, Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning commodities. The coordinator will provide training, Monitoring and Supervision and Commodity Pipeline monitoring.

2. Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Maintain Pipeline databases for all USAID CHEKUP II Activity managed commodities and ensure consistent resupply from central level through a prescribed timeframe;
• Gather data, analyses and address logistics system bottle necks;
• Ensure timely submission of reports and requisitions forms for USAID CHEKUP II Activity managed commodities;
• Coordinate the requisition and reporting (R&R) of essential medicines and commodities between the established safe-spaces, DEpICCs and the mother facilities, District Health Offices, Provincial Health Offices, MOH and ZAMMSA in line with the standardized operational procedures
• Work with other Activity staff to help identify resource and/or performance improvement needs in order to advance the goal of commodity security;
• Ensure commodity needs for outreach activities are well managed and systems to promote accountability are adhered to;
• Collaborate with Ministry of Health to facilitate access to selected public sector commodities;
• Conduct logistics training workshops, mentorship and on-job training as assigned;
• Prepare and ensure timely submission of supply chain activities done.
• Ensure disposal of bio-medical waste management in all DEpICCs
• Implement the Environmental mitigation and monitoring plan (EMMP) in collaboration with DEpICCs and other relevant authorities to control and minimize the risk of infections from medical waste generated at USAID CHEKUP II Activity Sites.
• Prepare and present technical presentations as necessary.

3. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:
• Minimum Degree is required in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, International Development, Health Systems, Health Services Development, or related social science field. A degree or master’s in Public Health will be an added advantage;
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in supply chain management (preferably in public health);
• Have the ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural; socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds;
• Possess a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others;
• An empathetic, devoted and respectful individual with good interpersonal communication, team building, and writing skills;
• MUST read and write English and be able to speak the language of his/her community and be accepted by the key population;
• Should be aware of HIV, STIs and demonstrate ability to become more knowledgeable in HIV and related key population prevention interventions;
• Must be aware of harm reduction and demonstrate ability to become more knowledgeable in harm reduction and related interventions for the key population;
• Should be honest, respectful, polite and trustworthy.
