job Description

• To operate reverse engineering methodologies that can improve and enhance manufacturing processes in Rwandan businesses that participate in the NIRDA value chain projects.
  
• Analyze the products of manufacturers in priority value chains to determine their underlying composition and construction process.
  
• Provide advice to multi disciplinary project teams on how the underlying composition or processes uncovered could be utilized effectively by Rwandan enterprises without damaging the original manufacturer’s intellectual property rights.
  
• Analyze and recommend improved work flow and production plant layout to Rwandan enterprises in the priority value chains when requested by a project matrix team.
  
• Provide guidance to Rwandan enterprises in the priority value chains on the use of technology to improve their productivity which is appropriate to their needs and resources.
  
• To undertake environmental impact assessments where potential projects are identified as presenting a high environmental risk.
  
• Promote the adoption of resource efficient and cleaner patterns of production and consumption, as well as of environmentally sound practices for the management and disposal of toxic or hazardous chemicals used by Rwandan industry.
  
• Demonstrate tools and instruments that can be applied to promote cleaner production and preventive environmental management.
  
• Consult with and advise cross functional project teams on specialist consultancy input.
  

Job Profile

Masters in Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic Process Engineering, Agro processing, Green Production or Environmental Management with five years of working experience or A0 in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic Process Engineering, Agro processing, Green Production or Environmental Management with seven years of working experience.

Key technical skills and knowledge required:

• Strong command of written and spoken English
  
• Industry working experience is desired
  
• Demonstrated knowledge of production layouts, value chains efficiency assessment.
  
• Demonstrated experience in designing efficient industry processes
  
• Understand the environmental impact of various industrial designs and layouts
  
• Ability to understand technical requirements of industrial machinery and their potential for increased efficiency
  
• Ability to independently conduct research to understand the various technologies available to industrialize production.
  
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills
  
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
