Job Title: Trainee Manager
Reporting to: Store Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
• Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to store personnel.
• Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
• Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency
• Monitor stock and purchase levels to ensure they stay within the set budget.
• Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation is upheld.
• Inspect all areas of the store and resolve any store operational issues that might arise.
• Plan and oversee in-store promotional events, pricing and maintain highest levels of merchandising.
• Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
• Analyze sales and revenue reports and make trading and sales forecasts.
• Ensure the store fulfills all legal health, safety and quality guidelines and procedures.
• Develop business strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability.
• Report on buying trends, customer needs and profitability of the store.
• To be able to maintain the budget of any expenditures and to be able to report the finance condition to the store manager.
• Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff.
• Propose innovative ideas to increase market share
• Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
• Complete store administration and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc).
• Additional store manager duties as needed.

Qualifications
• Full Grade (12) qualifications
• Retail experience in a busy retail environment at supervisory level/junior/trainee manager a must
• Minimum requirement of a Diploma or Degree in a business course from a higher tertiary institution
