JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring all training programs and conduct training sessions for sampling personnel, assayers and chemists under analytical services.

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
1. Preparing and conducting class lessons and lecture handouts/notes.
2. Developing assignment’s, Mid Term Tests, End of Term Tests and Examinations.
3. Compiling an up-to-date Continuous Assessment for all students for the relevant program.
4. Assisting the Librarian at MCTC to procure appropriate and relevant books for enhancing training resource material base.
5. Ensuring that the training in Assaying and Sampling meets Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) requirements.
6. Developing Training Modules for Analytical Services for chemists, Assayers, Sample preparers and Sampling hands.
7. Exercising budgetary control to ensure cost effectiveness on proper utilization of both human and material. resources in order to meet requirement and service availability within budgeted costs.
8. Training and developing learners and ensure that acceptable performance standards are maintained and improved.
9. Monitoring succession plans for employees in Analytical Services Department and to arrange for pre-promotion assessments.
10. Identifying needs and develop appropriate training strategies to meet the expected training requirements.
11. Undertaking continuous improvements to the training materials e.g. Ensure that new technology manuals from equipment manufacturers are incorporated in preparing training materials.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Grade 12 Certificate
2. Degree in Chemistry or related discipline
3. Certificate or Diploma in teaching methodology
4. Member of Chemical Society of Zambia
5. Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
