JOB DETAILS:
The African Business School (TABS) is looking for an experienced Video Editor to teach / train its team to assemble recorded footage into a finished product that matches the organization’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. The successful applicant should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.
Deliverables and term: This is a part-time assignment that requires the successful applicant to work with / train the in-house team to create / edit / produce good quality videos. The term is not time bound but based on transferring video editing skills required to the team to make decent quality videos.
The engagement may involve some sessions over a period of approximately 3 months. .

Responsibilities include:
Teaching / training the team to:
• Choose tools / equipment required
• Manipulate and edit film pieces
• Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
• Create rough and final cuts

• Proven work experience as Video Editor with digital technology and editing on software packages
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Creative mind and storytelling skills
• Ability to select / recommend appropriate video editing tools and equipment
• Able and willing to transfer skills
