JOB DETAILS:
Scope of Job
Supervision and oversight of the Company’s workshop and logistics by Planning directing, coordinating, and executing the servicing and maintenance of all Company Heavy Duty Machinery, Vehicles, Equipment, Workshop Staff, Drivers, Operators, as well as planning and monitoring the movements of all vehicles in conjunction with other departments.
Work under Job Objective
the direction of the Workshop Manager to reduce the operational and logistic cost, spend, breakdowns and downtime, whilst increasing the useful life of all machinery and equipment through preventive maintenance, optimal efficient management, and planning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure that all preventative maintenance to equipment and vehicles is planned and executed timeously.
• Ensure all work is carried out and completed with a high standard of workmanship and quality.
• Help ensure that the workshop is manned with the correct skills to facilitate satifactory repairs.
• Ensure that all vehicles tyres, batteries and equipment is safe guarded and always available.
• Monitor the movements and condition of all company heavy duty machinery, equipment, vehicles, workshop staff, drivers and operators.
• Work in Conjunction with other departments to ensure that all Environmental, Social and Governance measures are introduced and that the company complies to Statutory laws with regards to Occupational Health and Safety and Waste disposal in the Workshop.
• In house training of workshop and logistics employees to address training needs and co-ordinate external training programs for further career development.
• To develop and improve current systems, controls, reports, and documentation.
Qualification and Experience
• Diploma / Trade Certificate in Auto Mechanics or Agriculture Mechanics
• Leadership of work-force focusing on delivery of KPI’s with attention to detail
• Driven by costs controls, whilst ensuring effective and efficient operations
• Experience in managing a workshop (maintenance of equipment and fleet)
• Stores, Purchases and Logistics management
• Promote discipline and accountability with a focus on building a productive team
• Computer literate, with reporting and data capturing ability
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Workshop or Operation Management Foreman position
• Must have good references, quality personal habits, be accountable and display exceptional imitative
