JOB DETAILS:
Goldenlay is the largest producer, supplier, and distributor of table eggs across Zambia, and boasting a brand familiar to retailers and consumers alike. Goldenlay is hereby inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates to fill the position of:

Workshop Manager
• Scope of Job
• Management of the Company’s workshop by planning, directing, coordinating, and executing the servicing and maintenance of all Company Heavy Duty Machinery, Vehicles and Equipment. Including management of Workshop Staff, Drivers, Operators, as well as planning in conjunction with other departments.

Job Objective
• Reduce the operational cost, spend, breakdowns and downtime, whilst increasing the useful life of all machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance, optimal efficient quality workmanship, and planning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Give input during budgeting, measure expenses against the budget and drive cost saving initiatives
• Ensure that all preventative maintenance to equipment and vehicles is planned and executed timeously
• Identify and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults on equipment and vehicles
• Ensure all work is carried out and completed with a high standard of workmanship and quality
• Ensure that the workshop is manned with the correct skills
• Monitor the condition of all company machinery, equipment, vehicles, and tools
• Help facilitate new appointments and ensure that all workshop and logistics positions are filled with competent employees
• Enforce disciplinary procedures and sanction when needed
• Able to do In-house training of workshop employees skill needs and co-ordinate external training if necessary
• Order and purchase the necessary consumables and parts
• Develop and improve current systems, controls, reports, and documentation.

Qualification and Experience
• Administrative, management, mechanical, and hands on skills are a must
• Leadership of workforce focusing on delivery of KPI’s with attention to detail and quality
• Driven by cost controls, whilst ensuring effective and efficient operations
• Must be able to work under pressure and be deadline-driven
• High degree of accuracy and integrity with strong communication skills
• Experience in managing a workshop (maintenance of equipment and fleet)
• Promote discipline and accountability with a focus on building a productive team
• Computer literate, with reporting and data capturing ability
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Workshop Management
• Must have good references, quality personal habits, be accountable and display exceptional initiative.
