We help rural families, women, youth, low income people, and other households in Zambia to understand and access a wide range of sustainable, comparable and affordable financial services. FSD Zambia enhances trust between clients and suppliers of financial services by helping to bring people together, cultivate understanding, stimulate innovation, and lower costs. FSD Zambia enjoys the active support of financing partners UK Aid, SIDA, Rural Finance Expansion Programme (RUFEP) and Comic Relief/Jersey Overseas Aid.
About the Job
The position plays a significant role in FSD Zambia, which is a market facilitator and influencer in financial inclusion and in links to the real sector. In policy, the Director PDFS enables research, market tracking, rules review and enhancement, policy support, market stakeholder consultation and joint change-making, and implementation/monitoring of policy and regulatory issues. S/he engages with top regulators, policymakers, and financial service providers in the industry to improve the market and its services, particularly in favour of the financially underserved.
The Director PDrs leads and oversees work related to digitisation, DFS market growth, and rules/market practices in these areas. S/he engages with other Directors in the senior management team to enable more broad improvements across the programme in policy and DFS. The Director Policy and DFS manages key staff working in policy and DFS. This role also includes administrative functions and strategic management roles, supporting the CFO and management team in defining, delivering, monitoring, and reporting on the FSD Zambia agenda and strategic outcomes. .

Job Skills:
• Capacity to develop and implement strategies that deliver on the FSD Zambia vision. Exceptional abilities in policy in applied research, analysis, advisory services, and motivation to undertake reform.
• Exceptional understanding of the digitisation process worldwide, regionally, and in Zambia, and ability to lead major reforms and innovations in this field in Zambia Demonstrated capacity to build, support, and collaborate with industry associations such as the Payments Association, Bankers Association, and Association of Digital Finance Practitioners.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage relations with other funding partners engaged in supporting financial sector development, with a focus on areas impacting policy and digital finance.
Job Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Development Economics, Financial Services, Banking or Insurance;
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in facilitation of the development of financial service markets and financial inclusion, with particular attention to PDFS work areas;
• Strong management capabilities with excellent track record of providing organisational and leadership support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of programmes and projects; Solid professional network of higher-level key individuals in the market, to enable successful change and innovation in timely and sustainable ways;
• Sound experience and skills in writing and editing, presentations to senior professionals, and use of MS systems including Word, Excel, Power Point, and others;
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills with staff, stakeholders and partners with motivation for high quality service delivery.
