ACTION is a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to lead its social and behavior change (SBC) programming around the world. Primed by the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP), Breakthrough ACTION partners include Save the Children, ideas42, Thinkplace, Camber Collective, Action Sprout, the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), Human Network International/Voto (HNI/Voto), and the Communication Initiative. The vision of the project is to ignite collective action using next generation behavior change approaches to empower households and communities to become healthier and more prosperous
Job Overview:
This position is to chauffeur staff, consultants, and materials to authorized locations and also carry out pickup and delivery duties as required. The Driver employed on the Breakthrough ACTIONZambia Project is bound by the policies and procedures prescribed in the Transport Policies and Procedures Manual of the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) Zambia Office.
Job Responsibilities:
• The position is responsible for ensuring the security of passengers, maintaining a vehicle in a sound condition and providing driving services.
• Using Breakthrough ACTION-Zambia project vehicles, drive project staff, consultants and other authorized program support to authorized destinations.
• Keep the assigned vehicle in good shape for program delivery at all times by; ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition before making any field trips. b. requesting authorization to send vehicle for maintenance and service/repairs when due/needed, ensuring vehicle Roadworthy and Insurance Certificates remain valid during the life of the project.
• Maintain adequate and accurate records of the vehicle's use, performance and fuel consumption.
• Inspect and be vigilant at all times for the detection of any faults and/or damage to the assigned vehicle,
• whether accidental or otherwise, and submit a written report on it as soon as possible to the Administrator
• Ensure that all necessary measures are taken to avoid theft of the vehicle(s).
• Prepare travel advance requests and travel expense reports in a timely, honest, and accurate manner for all up-country travel.
• Carry out other relevant duties as required.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic and driving regulations and laws of Zambia.
• Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
• A valid Driver's License issued by the Zambia Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA).
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Five or more years of driving experience with demonstrated safe driving record.
• Good knowledge of Zambian culture and geography.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Familiarity with common administrative tasks.
• Good oral and written English language skills and ability to communicate in common Zambian languages.
• A warm and respectful demeanor.
