Job description:
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
Purpose of Role
Manage costs relating to residential, commercial, institutional & civil projects. Develop Bill of Quantities for tender documents from Architectural drawings. Propose quality alternative materials for construction projects to enhance budgets. .

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare budgets for residential, commercial, institutional & civil construction projects.
• Prepare tender documents and materials lists for planned projects.
• Prepare payment certificates
• Feasibility studies on new construction projects
• Evaluating tenders for approval
• Contract negotiations with potential contractors
• Procure project materials through the procurement system.
• Monitoring of budgets for construction projects
• Implement and maintain financial control systems.
• Set up a production management tracking and reporting system.
• Monitor construction progress against forecasted project timeline via MS Projects for multiple projects.
• Assessment of variations orders to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly
• Generate weekly & monthly reports as and when required.
• Takes up responsibilities of Construction Manager in his absence
• Provide training and development opportunities for all direct reports on an ongoing basis, with a particular focus on Zambian employees.
• Other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications
• Grade 12 School certificate or Ordinary level certificate and
• Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Quantity Surveying
Experience
• Minimum of five (10) years’ experience
• Ms Projects Level 2 & Level 3
• Budgeting of residential, civil & RC framing projects
Operational Requirements
• CCS Candy Construction Software – minimum 3 years’ experience
• WINQS software
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
• Driving licence

Job Education Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences

Job Experience Requirements: Minimum of five (10) years’
