JOB DETAILS:Job Purpose
Shall assist the Senior Agricultural Officer in all agricultural activities and oversee occupational health and safety.
Shall be responsible for the coordination and implementation of agricultural activities that includeoverseeing the fertilization, planting, cultivation and harvesting of crops,among others.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct daily technical planning, monitoring and reporting of the field activities to the Senior Agricultural Officer.
• Coordinate and supervise agricultural activities.
• Carry out the post distribution and post harvesting survey in the field.The responsibility of agriculture assistant is to provide educational training to his team members.
• Providing modern technique to plough field in easy way and motivate former to leave traditional way to work in farms.
• Ensure the use of high productive seeds, and protective insecticides, and available modern fertilizers.
• Assist in the development of quarterly and monthly work plan and budget plans, including monthly monitoring plan
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Professional Membership
• Diploma/ Professional Qualification in Relevant field
• 3 years experience in similar position

Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the fertilisation, planting, irrigation, cultivation and harvesting of crops on a crop farm.
2. Coordinate agriculture activities with Agricultural Officer and share knowledge/best practices.
3. Provide practical training to the agriculture field captains in line with crop life cycle.
4. Develop quarterly and monthly work plan and budget plans, including monthly monitoring plan.
5. Conduct regular visits to farm fields, identify technical problems investigate causes, provide effective solutions to assure crop quality and low crop damage and ensure increased crop production levels.
6. Provide information or recommendations regarding ways in which land can best be used to promote growth or avoid and correct problems such as erosion.
7. Develop new or improved methods or products for controlling or eliminating weeds, crop diseases, or insect pests and identify or classify species of insects such as locust.
8. Develop activities monthly report and include agriculture activities progress
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma/ Professional Qualification in relevent field
• Professional Membership
• 5 years work experience in similar position
