JOB DETAILS: Juba Transport Zambia Limited requires the services of a qualified person to fill the position of Transport Vehicles Inspector. The company engages in the transportation of fuel, acid, and dry cargo locally and internationally.
Job Purpose
The Job holder’s responsibility is to ensure the company vehicles fleet is road worthy, in good condition and compliant with legal, regulatory, and safety standard requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and safety requirements using the vehicle inspection checklist.
• Conduct safe to operate vehicle inspections as the vehicles arrive and before they are dispatched.
• Report all defects, faults and non-conformities detected on the vehicles and ensure they are corrected by the appropriate departments prior to issuance of a gate pass.
• Issue out gate passes for vehicles that have passed safe to operate vehicle inspections.
• Detain all vehicles that fail the safe to operate vehicle inspections not until defects, faults and non-conformities are corrected
• Inspect and assesses the condition of all the vehicle’s essential mechanical systems and components.
• Compile and send reports on vehicle inspections conducted and actions taken.
• Document all records for vehicles inspected.
• Communicate challenges and recommendations concerning vehicle inspection and how to improve the system.
Qualification and Requirements:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in Auto-Mechanics or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of work experience in an automotive environment / workshop.
• 2 – 3 years working experience in a similar role or capacity is an added advantage
• Computer Literate

“MCC Funding”). The Millennium Challenge Account Zambia Limited (“MCA-Zambia”) was designated as the accountable entity for purposes of implementation of the Lusaka Water Supply Sanitation and Drainage Project. The Compact expired on 15th November 2018 (“Compact End Date”). The Government, in accordance with its obligations under the Compact, designated Millennium Project Completion Agency Zambia Limited (MPCA Zambia), a subsidiary of MCA-Zambia, as an additional accountable entity for purposes of implementation of any activities that would be incomplete by the Compact End Date, such activities to be funded by the Government (“Goverment Funding”) and together with MCC Funding”. “Compact Funding”
In December 2021, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) selected Zambia os eligible to develop a second Millennium Challenge Compact (“the Compact”), five-year grant programme. Based on this eligibility, in February 2022, the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) designated MPCA-Zambia as the entity to spearhead the development of Compact Il and related activities, working closely with MCC and all other stakeholders. The activities include conducting diagnosis of the constraints to economic growth and poverty reduction, prepare concept notes, develop proposals and plan for project implementation
MPCA-Zambia now invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following position:
JOB PURPOSE
The coordination of the procurement of Goods, Services and Works for the organization and administration of contracts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure compliance with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Program Procurement Guidelines (PPG) and all applicable guidelines, policies, procedures, best practice and applicable laws
• Ensure oversight in the preparation of Terms of Reference and the specifications for all procurements.
• Ensure procurements are undertaken in a transparent manner and that solicitations are based on clear and accurate description of goods, works and services and that contracts are awarded to qualified contractors, suppliers and consultants with the capability and willingness to perform the contracts in a cost effective and timely manner
• Ensure value for money for all procurements of works, goods and services and cost containment and for reduction
• Ensure the development and implementation of an annual procurement plan in liaison with all other Sectors.
• Ensure the development of Procurement Implementation Plans for each procurement outlined in the applicable policies and guidelines
• Coordinate the administration of all contracts for works, goods and services in liaison with Contract Managers ensuring that all deliverables are met.
• Ensure the preparation of relevant procurement management and tender analysis reports for all procurements for Goods and Services
• Ensure measures are in place to mitigate fraud, waste and abuse in the process in line with the applicable policies and guidelines.
• Provide guidance to Evaluation Committees and ensure strict compliance with the procedures and rules set out in solicitation documents, especially the criteria and methodology for evaluation of bids and proposals for works. Maintain a record of the performance of suppliers. contractors and consultants and for their compliance with the terms and conditions of contracts Manage any outsourced specialized services and liaise with the Procurement Consultant on all such procurement matters Maintain a record of the performance of suppliers, service providers, contractors, and consultants and for their compliance with or breach of the terms and conditions of contracts
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Arts Degree in a relevant field plus Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply
• Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) O levels (creditor better)
• At least six (6) years of post qualifying work experience in a similar role in a private or public organization.
• Experience working in a donor aided organisation, project or international organization is an added advantage.
• Must be a member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
