Job description:
• Leading a team of process control metallurgists and data base specialists. Providing day to day guidance, direction and prioritisation of workload.
• Manage implementation of automated process control strategies to maximise efficiencies of process sub-sections.
• Identify process improvements and realisable opportunities via the implementation of process control philosophies.
• Support Operations in the troubleshooting of the operation to meet daily performance targets.
• Process modelling and data analysis to highlight where equipment is deviation from normal operation.
• Frequently audit and tune the performance of the site’s controllers and final control elements.
• Keep up-to-date documentation of the site’s control philosophy and manage the approval process for changes to philosophy.
• Ensure service level agreements and software licences are kept up-to-date.
• Automate routine tasks and reports to free up work hours of the Operations team.
• Train and develop the team’s knowledge by transferring key skills in process control, advanced control strategies, analysis techniques, and the use of associated software.
• Keep up abreast of technological developments and bring such knowledge to site

JOB DETAILS: Purpose
To install and maintain plant equipment including converters, chutes and pipes according to drawings. Carry out steel fabrication / repair works, ensure the proper care and maintenance of allocated cutting, welding and tools / equipment under the general guidance of the section’s supervisor/s.
Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Fabrication and repair of steel components including vessels, piping, & chutes.
• Use of hand and power tools including: grinders, drilling machines, files and spanners.
• Proficient in carrying out arc welding.
• Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates.
• Straighten or reshape steel plates or structural steel parts, using hammers, jacks, or torches.
• Carry out visual and thickness tests on ducts and pipes to locate defects, such as leaks, thinning, or defective sections, so that they can be repaired.
• Proficient in the safe use of Oxy-Acetylene cutting torches.
• Fabricating Installation of cable racks/bends/supports.
• Experienced in handling heavy angle grinders.
• Demonstrate sound work ethics
• Checks all tools to make sure that they are in good working condition
• Can work independently but maintains the direction from the supervisor and section
• Preserves welding records in case welding temperature may change suddenly.
• Carry out routine housekeeping tasks to make sure that the work area is clean
• To undertake such other duties as may be determined by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft Certificate in Metal Fabrication
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
Experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Boilermaker in a mining/plant environment
• Knowledge of workplace safety, including writing risk assessments and following allocated safe work procedures

JOB DETAILS: Refrigeration Technician
We are looking to hire one (1) detail-oriented Part-Time Refrigeration Technician at Update Innovations Group.Main Responsibilities but not limited to:
• Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers’ requirements.
• Assisting with customers’ queries.
• Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the supervisors
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Certificate/ Diploma in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning
• Ozone layer practicing certificate
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in HVAC field
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short notice.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and out of town at any given time.
