The University of Lusaka is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up the position of Lecturer in the School of Education, Social Sciences and Technology on full time basis. These candidates should be highly ‘motivated and passionate about making a mark in the education sector in respect of the following field:
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY / COMPUTER SCIENCE
Qualifications
Information Technology / Computer Science (2 Positions)
To be considered for this position, one must have the following qualifications:
• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• A Master of Science in Computer Science or any related field,
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching/Lecturing Methodology.
• A PhO in this particular field will be an added advantage.
• Five (5) years industrial experience in these fields of study will be added advantage.
• At least five (5) years’ experience of lecturing at tertiary level.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
• Lecture on the courses that will be allocated to you.
• Develop and improve course outlines and teaching materials for the assigned courses.
• Carry out research and publish materials.
• Supervising both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students’ research work.
• Prepare schemes of work at the start of each semester for the assigned courses.
Key Qualities and skills:
• Self-motivated and resourceful with strong intellectual ability.
• Ability to research and create new knowledge.
• Should be a goal getter and a team player.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be articulate and have strong interpersonal skills.
• High level of planning and organizing skills.
• Must be familiar with Moodle e-learning platform or other e-learning platforms.
• Passionate about teaching and research.
