Mair Pharmaceuticals Ltd a pharmaceutical company based in Lusaka, Zambia is searching for an organised self-starter to be our new operations assistant.
The Operations Assistant’s responsibilities include reporting directly to the manager and fulfilling the Manager’s duties in their absence. You should also be well-versed in internal operations, take minutes at meetings, forward and distribute mail as required, and prepare and file relevant documents.
To be successful as an operations assistant, you should possess excellent communication skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks. Top candidates will have strong organisational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Operations Assistant Responsibilities:
• Acting as second-in-command to the manager, and taking care of all duties in their absence.
• Assisting the Manager with operational issues.
• Scheduling meetings and team building sessions as required.
• Promptly answering the questions of staff, clients and other stakeholders.
• Providing excellent customer service and maintaining relationships with Clients.
• Preparing and filing forms and other documents.
• Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Taking inventory and ordering office supplies as needed.
• Updating logs and order forms.
• Analyzing all operations and forwarding suggestions for improvement to the Manager.
Operations Assistant Requirements:
• Full 12 Grade Certificate
• Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply or a Business-related field
• Valid Driver’s License.
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Additional courses in Business Writing is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Superb organisational skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to learn.

JOB DETAILS: Job Purpose:
To assist and support surveyors in field surveys by preparing survey equipment, transporting, assembling, maintaining and laying out surveying equipment.
Responsibilities: –
• Performing routine tasks to assist Mine Surveyors by transporting, assembling, maintaining, and laying out surveying equipment, marking development ends, drilling, and installing of pegs.
• Carrying out survey data analysis on survey data and maintain the integrity of the survey computer directories and records of all files in the survey database.
• Setting out of all mine design and geological requirements, this includes preparation of set out plans for all designated staff to utilise.
• Carrying out stockpile surveys on a regular basis to enable accurate stockpile volumes to be calculated at the end of each month for reconciliation and ore stock calculations.
• Ensuring that survey activities comply with Safety and Health policies and procedures.
• Marking survey lines in development ends.Drilling and installing pegs
Skills & Qualifications: –
• At least a grade 12 school certificate
• 2 years’ work experience in underground operations as added advantage
• Manual valid driver’s licence
• Experience in mechanised/non-mechanised mining operations Hazard Identification and control measures
• Proven knowledge in safe handling and use of survey equipment added advantage
• Ability to follow instructions and promote teamwork
• Ability to learn quickly and working with minimum supervision

Responsibilities
• Answer and direct phone calls

Requirements and skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word and MS PowerPoint)
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
