JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The Southern Provincial Health Office under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking for eligible, self-motivated and qualified applicants
Location: Kazungula, Zimba, Kalomo, Choma, Sinazongwe, Namwala, Pemba, Gwembe, Monze, Mazabuka, Chikankata and Slavonga
Job Purpose:
Responsible for taking charge of the financial health of the Institution by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements and should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Should also demonstrate interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reports to: The Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of all financial transactions and procedures
• Keep accurate records for all daily transactions in the cashbooks
• Update internal systems with financial data
• Responsible for the timely retirement of all advances issued to the district
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and returns
• Monthly bank reconciliations
• Participate in financial audits both internal and external
• Update the assets register
• Prepare the monthly district budgets
• Manage and track imprest/advances issued to staff
• Review and implement financial policies
• Have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time sensitive tasks
• Point of contact between the bank and the Institution
Qualifications:
• Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) O’ Levels
• Diploma in accounts, Part 2 ZICA, ACCA or CIMA
• Must be an active member of ZICA
• Knowledge in Pastel Accounting will be an added advantage
• Proven work experience in a similar role in managing USG funds for two (2) years
• Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
• Advanced MS Excel, Word and Power Point skills
• Knowledge of GRZ and USG financial regulations
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Team builder and able to work with minimum supervision
• Sharp time management skills
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
• Experience in handling/managing USG Funds is an added advantage
• Aged below 45yrs
