JOB DETAILS:
Overall Mission of the Role:
• To coordinate and supervise activities in the Packing Plant for the purpose of loading and dispatching Lime in accordance with loading procedures and according to raised invoices, as well as to contribute to the best level of performance of plant’s equipment.

Main Responsibilities:
• Liaises with Sales Department on daily sales and distribution forecasts.
• Raises loading instructions delegates to Shift Supervisor. Checks and ensures that all loading specifications are adhered to. Avert Under/over loading.
• Counter checks trucks weight\ed to ensure correct weights are dispatched.
• Advises customers indirectly through sales about their consignment, departure dates and any other information that may be of interest to them.
• Ensures subordinates carry out pre-shifts checks on the condition of all machinery or equipment and malfunctioning equipment is reported to relevant authority for action.
• Ensures that all subordinates observe strictly safety rules while working.
• Checks stocks of Lime bags to ensure those available could sustain packing forecast for the day. Raises requisition for short falls.
• Ensures that Shift Supervisors carry out accurate daily stock count of Lime and paper bags and raises tock sheets for distribution to Production Manager, Works Manager, Stores Controller, Purchasing and Statistics office, indicating opening stocks of Lime bags and Lime.
• On strength of available Lime, advises sales selling capacity of the day. Liaises with Shift Managers and other Supervisors on the current status of Lime stocks and the need to accelerate production to meet targets and demands.
• Makes shift arrangements for two shifts. Prepares roasters, dispatches and siding situations and submits such reports to Production Manager, Process Engineer and Statistician for information.
• Attends to customer complaints in regard to breakages for good customer/supplier relations.
• Contribute to the analysis of failures and problems, recommending corrective actions.
• Propose economic ways to extend the life of plant equipment.
• Performs any other duties assigned by superiors.

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:
Education background & Experience
• Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ Levels
• Diploma in Industrial Science technology or equivalent
• At least 2 years hands-on experience in a process industry, in a similar role

Technical Skills & Behavioural Skills
• Understand the process involved and effects at each stage in Lime production from the raw material to finished production.
• Ability to interpret and understand laboratory Lime analysis.
• Ability to operate equipment in the section.
• Compiles all Packing Plant reports and handles consignment forms plus other related documents.
• Tack and diplomacy when dealing with customers
• Ability to motivate subordinates in order to achieve required results while maintaining good supervisor-subordinate relationship.
• Easy to adopt to new job demands and environment requirements
• Able to work under pressure where necessary in order to produce required results with maximum efficiency
• Ability to prioritise actions and result driven (reliability, cost)
• Accuracy and precision with good aptitude for field work.
• Ability to interact with plant personnel. Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
