3 Background Verification Specialist

ZERB is looking for highly motivated young bright minds to fill up the position of Background Verification Specialist for its daily operations in Lusaka, Zambia.

Main Responsibilities
• Support multiple geographically dispersed Partners, Recruiters, Recruiting Managers, Risk Control Partners with varying degrees of background screenings requests
• Ensures a high volume of background screening requests are submitted accurately, timely, and with all necessary documentation to the appropriate primary information source providers and partners.
• Serve as Background Screening Subject Matter Expert while managing the complexity of the many regulations and policies dictated by country, ZERB businesses, and or job profile.
• Monitor background screening results to resolve discrepancies found within background screens and determine appropriate final dispositions following established guidelines.
• Ensures both regulatory and ZERB background screening requirements/all client SLAs are satisfied timely and accurately.
• Ensure the complete and accurate record-keeping of reports and documents that support the background screening completion to share with appropriate stakeholders as needed
• Provide timely follow-up and follow through on all requests, reports, and escalations
• Communicate with Clients, with tact and diplomacy, to obtain missing information or to clarify details as quickly as possible
• Collaborate with other teams to keep Clients informed of issues throughout the screening process
• Maintain a “Continuous Improvement” state of mind and helps to suggest and implement changes
• Be open to cross-training in other functions outside of the immediate scope of responsibility
• Assist team members and work as part of the team to ensure customers’ expectations are met
• Assist with mentoring, training, and coaching of new team members within the immediate team when required
• Track and report issues with our business partners
• Contact courts other government agencies or Vendors to complete verification of assigned record
• Consistently acquire new or updated knowledge of jurisdictional processes to become proficient in assigned work.
• Report generating/editing
• May assist in ad hoc projects as and when required
The ideal candidate should possess a diploma/degree in business and must be computer savvy. He/she must have extensive experience in working relationships or be able to do so with government ministries/agencies, Embassies, NGOs, Institutions of learning, and the private sector. You must be results-oriented and able to deliver within the stipulated Client Turnaround Times.
A high standard of personal presentation and conduct, including integrity, confidentiality, sensitivity, and a strong commitment to the organization is an asset to this role.
