Job Purpose
The Flight Dispatcher will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and monitoring of flights, coordinating with crew and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations. Prepare and validate operating flight plans in alignment with regulatory and company standards Take charge of assessing every variable that can affect the safety of a flight, which could vary from plane to plane based on the route, aircraft, and other factors. Preparing preflight administration, flight plans and flight briefings

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintaining the aircraft schedule to ensure they meet airport and airspace regulations
• Remaining in constant communication with pilot to ensure that the flight adhering to its flight route
• Analyze and update the flight crew on weather conditions, NOTAMS and en-route changes.
• Acting as the middle man between the pilot and ground services
• Signing dispatch release forms to provide authorisation for aircraft flight
• Maintain all required documentation, including load manifests and operational flight plans, as per regulatory requirements.
• Checking the visibility at both the departure airport and the destination airport to identify potential hazards
• Develop and manage monthly crew rosters in compliance with Zambia Civil Aviation Regulations (ZCARS) and company policies.
• Preparing flight plans containing information about the conditions, maximum allowable takeoff plan, weather conditions, and other information vital to the safe completion of a flight
• Reviewing the aircraft weight, cargo load and fuel loads
• Providing pilots with alternative flight plants in case of an emergency
• Communicating with the flight captain to solve any issues that may arise on flight
• Coordinate with the crew and operations teams on real-time decisions for safe and seamless flights.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Mathematics, Physics or Statistics
• Must have a minimum of at least 2-3 years practical work experience in flight dispatching or a related aviation role.
• Proven experience in flight planning, weather analysis, and strong communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation weather, flight regulations and aircraft performance
• Exceptional computer proficiency with all Microsoft office products
• Previous experience with aviation scheduling software
• Strong attentions to detail and be able to problem solve critical issues
• Certification in flight dispatching
