THE ORGANIZATION:
WealthNet Credit and Savings Co-Operative Society Limited (WealthNet Co-op) is a duly registered Co-operative Society under the Co-operative Societies Act of the Laws of Zambia. WealthNet Co-op was founded on 22nd February 2023 with the primary aim of providing micro-finance, loans and other credit granting services to its members and the general public. Overtime, the Co-operative Society will diversify business operations into several other identified industries. As a Co-operative, WealthNet Co-op is open to new membership subscriptions and it is in the process of mobilizing members of the general public, and other Entities, who wish to invest in financial services to advance its wealth creation agenda which is aimed at contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals of eradicating poverty, job creation, and decent life. It is a newly registered Co-operative that has an ambitious aim of becoming one of Zambia’s Top Five Best Co-operatives in terms of membership and financial performance by 2030.
POSITION SUMMARY: BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR
WealthNet Co-op now seeks a highly innovative and experienced professional to fill the vacant position of Business Administrator. The incumbent will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Co-operative and will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the Co-operative Society, under the direction of the Board of Directors.
The required Business Administrator / Chief Executive Officer will be expected to grow the Co-operative within our target segment across a designated market area and within an agreed timeframe. S/he will place an extensive focus on driving business development activities, new client acquisition, client retention, relationship management and growing shareholder’s value. Further, the Business Administrator will provide financial services to a targeted client segment by engaging in proactive marketing behaviors, executing approved sales plans, effectively managing pipeline projects, seek and recommend business opportunities and educating and motivating stakeholders to support and contribute to business growth targets. Additionally, the Business Administrator will ensure to prospect, develop, and open ‘Operating Branches as Centers of Influence,’ recommend business diversification and engage with external partners to build targeted business lines that align with Strategic Plan.
KEY RESULT AREAS – ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Planning and Business Growth: Develops and recommends to the Board of Directors the Strategic and Business Plans, as well as the accompanying work plans and budgets, and ensures their full implementation, once approved. S/he analyzes investment opportunities to facilitate positive business growth.
2. Strategic Leadership: Provides leadership to ensure the (i) strategic positioning of the Co-operative in business, as well as in social and environmental responsibilities, through development of new pipeline projects and initiatives, and (ii) effectiveness of all Co-operative Structures in day-to-day operations to achieve expected results.
3. Resource Mobilization: Mobilizes necessary resources and designs innovative financing models to finance, equip and sustainably run the planned operations, programs and capital projects of the Co-operative in line with Strategic Plans.
4. Policy Development: Drafts Policies and presents them to the Board of Directors for approval, and provides technical and policy advisory services to the Board.
5. Company Performance: Ensures that the Co-operative and all its Structures always achieve the set objectives and performance targets in sustainable manner and reports results to the Board and Committees at scheduled Board Meetings.
6. Coordination of Activities: Ensures coordination, build synergies, expand and strengthen strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, and chairs management and staff meetings, procurement committee meetings, etcetera, to ensure that the Co-operative programs are on course and achieve desired results.
7. Human Resource Management and Development: Ensures that WealthNet Co-op has an effective management team that actively participates in the continuing capacity development and effective performance of all staff and collaborators.
8. Co-operative Representation: Attends and represents the Co-operative at approved local and/or international consultative meetings, workshops, fairs, etcetera, either alone or together with the Board Chairperson or Board Nominee, and s/he negotiates and signs approved Agreements with Stakeholders.
9. Reporting: Ensure to have working systems that reports the status of the affairs of the Co-operative at any and all times, including giving financial statements to the Board of Directors every month, quarterly, semiannual and annual.
10. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors

5. Capacity Building – Ability to promote organizational learning and knowledge sharing that brings the best out of the Co-operative Structures and Staff, within a set performance management framework approved by the Board of Directors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education Requirements:
1. A First Degree (Bachelors) or Equivalent in Banking and Finance, Business, Management, Economics, Marketing, Accountancy or related field is required.
2. A Masters Degree in any of the aforesaid fields will be an added advantage.
3. An ICT Qualification is not mandatory but Basic ICT Knowledge is required.
4. Full and Valid Registration with, at least one, relevant Professional Bodies
Experience Requirements:
1. At least Ten (10+) Years Management Experience in Financial Services Industry.
2. Proven track record in successfully running a startup organization is required.
3. Proven ability in establishing partnerships and mobilizing resources from amongst Government, Donors, Financing Institutions, private sector, etcetera.
4. Experience in strategic planning and identification of entry points for targeted interventions for maximum benefit and leveraging of co-operative resources.
