Our Client in Lusaka, Zambia is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team for a job vacancy within the Energy industry.

Objective of the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic business opportunities to drive sales, increase market share, and foster long-term client relationships. This role focuses on energy products, including petroleum, lubricants, and other related services, with a strong emphasis on the Zambian market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Market Analysis
o Identify and analyze new business opportunities in the petroleum, lubricants, and energy product sectors.
o Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
o Develop and execute a robust business development plan aligned with organizational objectives.
2. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders.
o Identify and engage potential customers to expand the company’s client base.
o Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by addressing queries, resolving issues, and maintaining excellent service quality.
3. Sales and Revenue Growth
o Drive sales performance to meet and exceed revenue targets.
o Collaborate with the sales team to design and implement sales strategies tailored to the Zambian market.
o Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with clients, ensuring alignment with company policies.
4. Product Development and Training
o Work closely with technical teams to develop and customize products based on market demand.
o Provide technical training and support to clients on the effective use of products and services.
5. Compliance and Reporting
o Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory standards.
o Prepare and submit periodic reports on business performance, market trends, and growth strategies.

Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. A masters degree will be an added advantage.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or sales, preferably in the petroleum, lubricants, or energy sector.
o Proven track record of successfully working with energy-related products and services.
o Experience managing large accounts and working with diverse stakeholders.
Key Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of the petroleum and energy markets in Zambia.
• Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
