JOB DETAILS:
• Pedrew Investments Limited (PIL) is looking for a mature and experienced Butcher to assist with preparing meat for customers. The main responsibilities include meat handling, deboning, trimming, tying grinding and tendering cuts of meats. S/he also oversee packaging, weighing, labeling and pricing the goods. S/he should have experience in producing both fresh and cooked Sausages.

Responsibilities
• Arrange cuts of meats and place them in an attractive manner in the display case so that customers will want to purchase them.
• Must ensure the meat is weighed, labeled, priced in an efficient manner that helps customs to be satisfied.
• Receive deliveries of meat and inspect them to ensure that they adhere to the highest quality standards and are not expired.
• Must be able to use skewers, bone knives, twine, and other tools to lace, tie and shape roasts so that they are ready for customers to buy and cook.
• Prepare meat into forms ready for cooking using a variety of activities, including boning, cutting, trimming, and grinding to make it easier for customers.
• Rotate products to reduce the chances of any meat spoiling to avoid wastage and loss of profits.
• Ensure excellent customer service id rendered to the customers.
• Create a motivating work environment for production employees.
• Ensure a clean and healthy environment in the butchery.
• Maintain sales records to assist reconcile with cashier’s sales records.
• Organize the routine inspection and maintenance of butchery equipment.
• Handle emergency repairs.

Requirements and skills
• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Minimum Diploma in Food Science or production Management
• Minimum relevant experience-3 years
• Computer literate, conversant with Microsoft excel and word.
• Proficient in English language and Nyanja.
• Good communication skills (written and oral).
