JOB DETAILS:
Control Room Manager
The suitable candidates main responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
1) Security Management:
• Monitor the cctv, alarms and vehicle tracking systems
• Managing the delivery of the control room service and ensure delivery of operational KPI’s
• Ensuring operating systems are functioning correctly and are fit for purpose
• Acting as a focal point for security operations decision making during routine and emergency situations
• Ensure all incidents/messages are passed to the relevant persons
• Use two-way radio to effectively communicate with guards, supervisors, and management
• Communicate with emergency services as per standard operating procedures when required
• Carry out additional duties as required during emergencies
• Reporting critical incidents to the security manager
• Incident and investigations management
• Providing reports and recommendations process improvements
• Client liaison and professional client relationship
• Security advice to clients
• Effectively dealing with and managing client complaints
• Threat and Risk assessment/reporting
• Any other duties deemed relevant to the role
• 2) Personnel Management:
• Manpower management and rostering
• Ensure compliance to the company’s disciplinary code
• Initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings
• Ensure all company SOPs are followed
• Conducting and monitoring control room staff appraisals and encouraging further development
• 3) Control Room Management:
• Equipment management – issuing emergency equipment to the technical and operational teams, and maintain records issuance/return of company property
• Keep control room appearance up to the established service
• Maintain control room visitors logbook
• Develop and complete the control room policy and procedure
• Managing training and development and recruitment of control room staff
• Developing the control room operations manual that supports all control room operations, updating when required and formulating and implementing security policy and procedures
• Qualifications/Attributes/Skills/Experience
• IT related qualification as a minimum requirement
• A Bachelors degree in computer science or any other IT related field – advantageous
• Computer literate (MS Office, In-depth knowledge of Windows systems, networking, and data base fundamentals)
• Education/training in management and/or security management
• Trained in Control Room, CCTV and alarm monitoring (proof to be provided)
• Relevant CCTV/Control Room experience (more than a year would be advantageous)
• Control Room Management (2 years experience)
• To deliver effective team management
• Good communication skills (verbal and in writing)
• Strong interaction capabilities with residents and the client
• Diligent and neat in appearance
• Ability to work under pressure and take charge
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
• Have a sound knowledge of security techniques
• Knowledge about computer systems in operation within the Control Room
• Understanding of all alarm systems
• Passion, innovation, and service excellence
