For our work in Zambia (Country Office in Lusaka), we are looking for a:
Country Director Zambia f/m (80 %)
You are responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and further development of the Comundo country programme Zambia in the field of education. You focus on the impact of the programme.
Your main tasks:
• You are responsible for implementing and ensuring the quality of the country programme. You will work closely with the local team and the programme manager in Switzerland.
• You will manage the country office and be responsible for Comundo Zambia’s budget, annual accounts and timely reporting and information flow to Switzerland.
• As a direct supervisor, you are responsible for leading and supervising the staff in the country office and the co-workers on assignment.
• In dialogue with local partner organisations, you will promote systematic networking in the programme’s field of work. You maintain contact with the partner organisations and jointly develop required profiles for co-worker assignments; you will also monitor and oversee possible funding projects.
• You represent Comundo to the rest of theworld.
Your profile:
• University or university of applied sciences degree, preferably in the field of education
• Several years of experience in development cooperation. At least 3 years of professional experience, preferably in Zambia or South / East / Central Africa.
• Leadership experience and competence
• Good knowledge and proven competencies in project/programme management as well as in coaching, moderation and conflict management
• Knowledge/contacts in the field of working with children/youth and/or older people are an advantage
• High social, communication and intercultural skills
• Very good knowledge of written and spoken English. Solid knowledge of German and/or French would be an advantage.
