DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer, you will ensure that the system is running smoothly and being monitored so that you can respond to issues as it arises. You will ensure that developers are never doing repetitive tasks, and the infrastructure is kept up to date as the stack evolves. As the processes change and the company grows, the DevOps engineer automates as much as possible to accelerate work. In short, you will ensure that developers focus on their core work so that products can be delivered earlier and more reliably.

What you will do:

• Configuring, documenting, optimizing and support of the infrastructure
  
• Infrastructure planning: plan integrations and additions across many systems
  
• Stay ahead of the competition on the newest tools that can be implemented to create efficiency
  
• Enhance the company‘s infrastructure security protocols.
  
• Understand business practices, looks for vulnerabilities and provides continuous monitoring and testing across all platforms.
  
• Enhance overall system reliability and scalability
  

Desired Technical Competencies:

• Configuration Management: Ansible or Chef, Puppet, or Power shell
  
• CIICD: Jenkins, BitBucket
  
• Code Quality: SonarQube
  
• Repository Management: Artifactory
  
• Containers and Virtualization: Docker or Virtualbox or Vagrant
  
• Database experience: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL and MongoDB
  
• Monitoring and Alerting: Nagios, Grafana
  
• Web Servers: Tomcat, Apache, Nginx
  

You will be a good fit if:

• Able to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
  
• Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  
• Comfortable with frequent, incremental code review, code testing, and deployment
  
• Experience with systems and IT operations
  
• Strong grasp of automation tools
• Prior experience with CIICD environment.
  
• A working understanding of code and script (Java, PHP, Bash)
  
• Prior experience in Linux server administration and a deep understanding of Linux/Unix
  
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically
  
• Experience of 2+ years in a similar role
  
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science and other associated
  fields
