POSITION: Director of Product Engineering

ITM Africa Ltd, an international company specializing in all HR solutions is currently supporting the recruitment of Director of Product Engineering on behalf of IREMBO, a technology company that designs and develops digital products focused on users in Africa, starting with Rwanda. IremboGov, Irembo’s pioneer product, is a government services platform. To date, it has 4.3M users in Rwanda and offers over 85 services online. Irembo is using this experience to develop a wide range of products

ROLE

The Director of Product Engineering will lead our product team to set strategy and high-level priorities. They will also lead our development teams to deliver high-quality software in an agile environment. We will be scaling our engineering team and the role entails setting up processes and supporting organization building. In this role, you will help build one of the best engineering teams and cultures in Kigali.

What you will do:

• Build and manage a growing team of product managers and engineers.
  
• Define and refine product and engineering roadmap to drive business value and customer impact.
  Improve development standards and procedures and ensure we use agile continuous deployment principles.
  
• Partner with other leaders in the organization to understand business goals, develop roadmaps, and design test strategies, tools, and drive meaningful improvements to increase the overall quality of our products.
  
• Manage product and engineer career progression and implement development plans that keep the team motivated, engaged and growing.
  
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establish metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement.
  
• Integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
  
• Partner with our recruiting team to find and hire engineers and great product thinkers onto our team.
  
• Engage local universities and technical schools to find meaningful collaboration and create a talent pipeline.
