JOB DETAILS:
The National Heritage Conservation Commission (NHCC) is a statutory body established in pursuance to the NHCC Act Chapter 173 of the Laws of Zambia under the Ministry of Tourism to conserve and Manage Zambia's Cultural and Natural heritage resources.
The Commission (NHCC) is hereby inviting suitably qualified and experienced Zambians to apply for the vacant position of the Executive Director (Chief Executive Officer) as follows:

JOB PURPOSE
To fully manage the institution, articulation, coordination and implementation of conservation policies and programmes so as to ensure a future for Zambia's Heritage.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Oversee the effective formulation of policies, standards and guidelines in order to ensure efficient identification, conservation and management of immovable heritage assets.
• Ensure compliance with NHCC Act and all other statutory requirement and guidelines governing the institution.
• Develop conducive corporate culture and establish good Corporate Governance principles so as to foster good reputation among clients and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the development and implementation of Strategic Business Plans, policies, and operating guidelines designed to sustain the efficient and effective execution of operations of the Commission and the attainment of the set objectives and goals.
• Formulate realistic annual budgets which aim at achieving set objectives in line with the Strategic Business Plan.
• Prepare quarterly and Annual Financial Statements for onward consideration and approval by the Board and ensure that end of year audits of financial statements are timeously carried out.
• Ensure that the Board and its Committees regularly meet as per regulation and Board Charter.
• Direct and guide the Management team in delivering on the strategic goals and objectives.
• Ensure timely planning of conservation programmes and strategies in order to facilitate their effective implementation.
• Oversee periodical development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the heritage conservation programmes in order to ensure an effective maintenance of a range of natural terrestrial, aquatic and coastal ecosystems that are healthy and resilient.
• Regular review of the Strategic Plan, policies and operational manuals in consultation with the Board.
• Ensure maintenance of Relationships with cooperating partners, donors, local communities and other business entities in the Conservation and Management of Zambia's Heritage.
• Coordinate and promote to the institution's profile and to adequately communicate the organization's vision and achievements through various mediums.
• Organizes the affiliation of the organization to strategic committees, groupings and institutions related to Heritage Management and Conservation for the benefit of the NHCC

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• Professional Qualification:
• Degree in a relevant field a must.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum relevant pre-job experience:
• Fifteen (15) years of proven working experience
• Experience in Heritage Conservation and
• Management will be an added advantage
• Eight (8) years in senior management position

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Communication Skills:
• Should be able to speak with excellence in fluency in English

Written skills
• Able to write well documented reports to facilitate planning, budgeting, research and information dissemination.

Oral Skills
• Ability to speak clearly and logically.
• Numerical/ Computation Skills
• Should be able to use basic computer applications such as MS Office, Excel and Spreadsheets

Other Skills
• Should possess inter-personal skills
• Management skills

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
