JOB DETAILS:
• The role of the Finance and Administration Manager is crucial in effectively managing the finance and administration functions at the Centre.
• As a member of the Senior Management Team, this individual is responsible for supervising the financial and administrative operations of the Centre. Their role aligns with the activities and goals outlined in the Centre’s business case.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with the Centre and University policies and procedures in the monitoring of the Centre payment system, ensuring timely payments.
• Manage all budgets by reporting burn rate for each sector and consolidating budgets for approval by the Management and Board. Review actual performance against the approved budgets.
• Execute administrative procurement activities in line with procurement and compliance policies and procedures.
• Prepare financial statements for audits and oversee the work of auditors. Ensure timely submission of audit reports to the Centre management.
• Actively participate in Senior Management team meetings to contribute insights and expertise.
• Provide supervision and guidance to staff within the Finance and Administration Department.
Qualifications and Experience
• Must possess a university degree in accounting or finance, with a preference for candidates holding a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) qualification or its equivalent. Additionally, a Masters or MBA degree will be considered advantageous.
• Should have accumulated at least eight (8) years of professional experience in the field, including a minimum of four (4) years in a senior position, providing financial support to internationally funded projects. This experience should ideally be gained within an organization or project with an annual budget exceeding USD 5 million/GBP 4 million.
• Must be able to demonstrate previous experience in supervising finance and administration staff.
• It is mandatory to be a registered member of ZICA.
