Chambeshi Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (ChWSSC), is the Utility Company based in Northern and Muchinga Provinces of Zambia providing water and sanitation services under the provision of the Water and Sanitation Act No. 28 of 1997.
The vision of the Company is be “National Best in Water Supply and Sanitation Services” and whose mission is to “Sustainably provide quality Water Supply and Sanitation Services to the satisfaction of the customer while embracing innovation and stakeholder support”

Job title: Head Water Safety And Quality Services-Salary Garde-Cms 3
Job Purpose
Coordinate and supervise water production operations for the different facilities by ensuring that attainment of the set production and quality standards efficiently and effectively as well as transmission of water.

Main Duities
• Responsible for assisting in planning and management of the water production process.
• Check chemical inventory to ensure that there are the proper amounts of chemicals on hand to operate the plant and order as needed
• Carry out inventory of the water treatment chemicals on a regular basis and advises the supervisor.
• Carry out and implement initiatives supporting the water treatment processes and facilities improvements.
• Assists with planning, organizing and directing the uninterrupted operation of the water production plant, pumping stations, wells, storage tanks, to maintain operations within permit parameters and meet reclaimed water demands.
• Assist in managing water quality at the treatment plant and throughout the distribution system.
• Review and audit water demand versus production. Ensure accuracy of production figures through monitoring, meter calibration maintenance, and remedial action to correct discrepancies
• Inspect plant equipment as necessary and order operating supplies and equipment as necessary
• Provides input into the departmental budget.
• Prepare duty Schedules for subordinates and ensure that overtime summaries are prepared and submitted on time.
• Develop, implement, review and train appropriate staff on standard operating procedures for the operation of the water treatment plant, wells and well field, pumping stations, reservoirs and towers.
• Manage and encourage staff, optimizes their outputs and effectively manages relationships in order to achieve organizational goals.
• Undertake and agree to performance targets and conduct appraisal for all staff under his/ her supervision.
• Ensure safety, health and environment regulations are observed
• Ensure proper safety standards and precautions are followed; establish and implement effective safety training.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive preventative maintenance reports to the Projects Engineer –Infrastructure Planning and Development on a monthly basis.

Qualifications And Experience
• Grade 12 (Form V) School Certificate including Math & English.
• Bachelor of Engineering- Chemical or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
• Paid up Member of EIZ
• Proven Business Knowledge and practical experience in an engineering industry or Company.
• 4 years ‘work experience in similar role, preferably in the water sector is highly desirable.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
