Our Client in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province is looking for a Hydraulic Technician to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining industry.

Primary Purpose
The Hydraulics Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and testing of hydraulic systems and components used in heavy mining machinery. The role ensures all hydraulic equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hydraulic System Maintenance and Repair
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system issues in machinery and equipment.
• Perform repairs, including replacing pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
2. Inspection and Diagnostics
• Inspect hydraulic components to detect wear, damage, or malfunctions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
3. Assembly and Testing
• Assemble and install hydraulic components to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct pressure and functional tests to ensure repaired systems meet performance requirements.
4. Technical Documentation
• Maintain detailed service and repair logs, including parts used and work performed.
• Provide accurate technical reports to supervisors and customers.
5. Health, Safety, and Environment Compliance
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Safely handle hydraulic fluids and related materials, ensuring proper disposal.
6. Team Collaboration
• Work with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot complex hydraulic issues.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions to stay updated on best practices.
7. Customer Support
• Assist customers with technical inquiries related to hydraulic systems.
• Provide recommendations for system upgrades or preventive maintenance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Efficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Reduction in equipment downtime due to hydraulic failures.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems, preferably in the mining or heavy machinery sector.
