JOB DETAILS:
NICO Insurance Zambia Limited, a general insurance company, has been operating in Zambia since 1 st October 1997, and has branches in Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Livingstone and Chipata. NICO Insurance Zambia Limited is a member of NICO Group of Companies operating in Malawi, and Sanlam through Sanlam Emerging Markets. The Company is now seeking to identify a qualified individual to be engaged as: Information Technology (IT) Officer.
The IT Officer will be reporting to Information Technology Manager, and will provide technical, software, application, hardware and network support. He/she will attend to end-user queries promptly and will take an active role in training users on company applications.

Main duties will include the following:
• Perform system state and applications backups
• Applying Operating System updates and other system patches
• Office365 and Microsoft Active directory administration
• Configuration and administration of Policy Administration Software and of endpoint antivirus software
• Configuration and administration of Microsoft Windows and Oracle Solaris servers
• Configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, access points and firewall
• Administration of VOIP PBX
• Help-desk support
• Perform computer and printer hardware repairs
• Ensure that LAN, WAN and Internet infrastructures are up and running all the time
• Oracle, SQL database and Web Applications support

Requirements:
• Holder of a Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Three years practical experience in system administration
• Professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNA or Oracle will be an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrate a high level of Integrity and honesty
• Member of the ICTAZ
