JUNIOR COST ANALYST
Exitrans Logistics Limited wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Junior Cost Analyst as a business support person to our Workshop and Financial management teams. The position assists in effectively managing and controlling the business and is responsible for costs and controls including general accounting, cost accounting, bill of material audits, inventory reconciliations, and cost analysis. The position also acts as liaison with Workshop, Finance and Purchasing staff, as required .

Essential Functions
• Perform daily/periodic physical inventory reconciliations. Research variances and discrepancies as needed. Recommend improvements to the process to reduce un-accounted for inventory.
• Interact with Purchasing Manager to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM’s to ensure they reflect the correct market prices.
• Analyse actual Workshop Labour, material, and overhead cost against Standard/Budget. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed.
• Prepare analysis of fixed spending by department. Show actual vs. budget and identify and explain variances.
• Aide in the development of new labour and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.
• Perform ad hoc cost analysis to support the operations.

Required Education and Experience
• Degree/Diploma in accounting or business administration or equivalent work hands-on experience
• At least 3 years in a cost accounting position in an Autospares workshop
• Road transport business background preferred.
• Exposure to Autospares/staff/activities, cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
