Job Purpose
This is a Senior Management role responsible primarily for maximizing the Authority’s opportunity for the generation of contributions, collections and General Revenues. In this regard, the Manager Revenue- Accounting shall research into optimal methods of generating revenues, design systems that maximize authority revenue including compilation, analysis of data and reporting for Management decision making.
It is also expected that the jobholder will apply the most current accounting and finance standards (IFRS) and rules in the execution of duties making financial statements, especially accounts receivables of the authority, more credible and allowing for more economic decisions based on accurate and consistent information.
With a focus on Authority revenue and collections optimization, the holder of this senior Management Role shall report to the Director Finance& Investments .
Key Responsibilities
• Researching into methods and tactics of broadening the income streams of NHIMA,
• Ensuring that the collection of existing premiums is optimized,
• Superintending over the maintenance of individual Scheme Member ledger accounts,
• Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information especially relating to accounts receivables,
• prepare Year-End Revenue Financial Statements thus ensures Compliance Reporting regarding International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for all Receivables, including making appropriate disclosures in accompanying notes,
• preparing management accounts (Receivables) to aid day to day decision making,
• Responsible for income recognition and recording receivables in general Ledger,
• Reconcile cash payments received for receivables to ensure appropriate entries in the general ledger,
• Effectively reconcile all Account Receivables, identifying and analysing issues and proposing any corrective actions required,
• Supervise staff under their charge for the optimal unit performance, and
• undertake any other assignments as may be delegated by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with a credit or better in Mathematics and English;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.
Competencies required for this Role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting,
• Holder of professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ZICA,
• Master’s Degree in a business field is an added advantage, and
• Demonstrable experience in Finance and Accounting in Health Insurance Environment at Senior Management level.
