We invite suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following position based in Lusaka:
1. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Managing Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of Vivo Energy OU strategic and operational direction to deliver the five-year business plan and shareholder value.
This entails implementing the mandate received by the VE Board and VE CEO to deliver long-term and short term plans and responsibility for all day-to-day management decisions in leading the downstream sales and marketing operations for Vivo Energy OU. .

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Maximize Business Potential and Deliver Results:
• Lead the formulation of strategic objectives and priorities for the business in OU aimed at giving a competitive and profitable edge to the company.
• Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance for the elective and efficient management of the business.
• Drive the growth agenda and build a strong culture of high performance urgency. Deliver the business plan - ensure the delivery of key Financial, HSSE Health, Safety, Security and Environmental) and Customer Satisfaction targets.
2.2 Reputation:
• Build the reputation of VE with all key stakeholders, internal and external, including Government, the press and media. Protect our product and employer brand.
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership. Ensure the highest standard of ethics and compliance in the way we do business, with both internal and external legal and compliance requirements.
• Board Administration and Support -- Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff. Duly advice and support the Board's Audit Committee, Governance and Remuneration Committee.
• Leading the company in periodical meetings with Analysis, Brokers as well as Minority Shareholders.
2.3 People Leadership:
• Continuously drive staff competence and identify and develop key stall to drive the business and also contributing to the pool of future business leaders.
• Develop and grow a culture that will foster a high level of staff commitment and motivation, increased accountability all country level, and a winning mindset.

• Excellent marketing orientation and good knowledge of the petroleum industry, particularly the downstream sector (supply and marketing) will be an advantage.
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Appropriate business degree with suitable experience as Country Managing Director, Country GM or Senior Business Lead with at least 4 years’ experience
2. Master’s degree in Management is an added advantage.
3. Management experience in supply and distribution
4. Proven track record of having successfully managed large, challenging and even controversial change initiatives.
5. Experience in working in a group of companies with a listed parent company.
6. Fully fluent in English & French.
