Our work in Zambia and the region covers a wide range of areas including support to: the protection of natural resources and biodiversity; sustainable economic development; and the reform of public institutions. Our projects across the region are funded by wide range of international donor agencies including: EuropeAid, USAID, KFW and UK FCDO.
Ecorys Zambia operates as part of Ecorys International Development which boasts a global reach that enables us to deliver projects in over 50 countries around the world. We support our clients, both governments and non-governmental organisations, through our project management capabilities and our technical expertise in public finance management, governance, monitoring and evaluation, social sectors and environment and natural resources.
As part of our five-year strategy, we are seeking to build and invest in our network of country offices to enable us to be closer to our markets, improve our access to business intelligence and strengthen our partner networks. In line with this, we are seeking to strengthen Ecorys Zambia’s role as a hub for our activities across the region as we continue to fulfil our growth ambitions and diversify our client base.
About the role:
To fulfil this ambition, we require a Managing Director for Ecorys Zambia to lead and support the organisation in its next stage of development and growth across the Southern Africa region.
The role will encompass: leadership of the Ecorys Zambia team; business development and acquisition; project management and delivery; delivery of financial targets; oversight of day-to-day operations; and integration, coordination and coherence with IDU and the wider Ecorys Group.

What we will need from you:
• Experience of successfully growing and managing a company / NGO / public sector organisation (or part there-of).
• Proven experience of developing a new portfolio(s) of work and developing the capability of staff to sustain this new business.
• Experience of leading, managing and developing a motivated and high performing team.
• Experience of delivering against financial objectives with evidence of strong commercial accumen.
• A knowledge of the trends, policies and procedures of a range of donor agencies will be considered an advantage.
• Post-graduate degree in relevant discipline, or commensurate experience.
