We are recruiting!
Our Client in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining industry.

Primary Purpose
The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and components for heavy mining equipment. This role ensures machinery operates safely and efficiently by performing precise mechanical work, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Assembly and Installation
• Assemble mechanical components and systems following technical drawings and specifications.
• Install new or replacement parts on heavy machinery, ensuring correct alignment and fitment.
2. Maintenance and Repair
• Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, adjustments, and cleaning of mechanical components.
• Diagnose and repair faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Replace worn or defective parts with precision to minimize equipment downtime.
3. System Diagnostics
• Conduct mechanical inspections to identify potential issues or failures.
• Use diagnostic tools to assess equipment performance and ensure functionality.
4. Safety and Compliance
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards and manufacturer specifications.
5. Documentation
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and parts usage.
• Report equipment issues and propose solutions to improve reliability and performance.
6. Tools and Equipment Management
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good condition and stored correctly.
• Request replacements or upgrades as needed.
7. Collaboration
• Work closely with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex mechanical problems.
• Provide technical support to other team members and share best practices.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Efficiency in completing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Reduced downtime of machinery.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience
• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in the mining or heavy machinery industry.
• Trade test certification is an added advantage.
