JOB DETAILS:
The Zambian Youth Platform (ZYP) whose vision seeks to see a “Zambia where young people are empowered and fully participate in social, economic and political development” was established in the year 2015 as a nonpartisan platform for youth leaders, youths and youth workers. It is a mechanism for mobilization of youths, youth leaders and youth workers and their organizations to:
Take action on critical issues affecting the youth through coordinated youth voices
Holding government and its key partners to accountable on youth priority and commitments.
Protect the interest of youths in all aspects through effective and coordinated representation.
Promote and support youth participation in decision making.
The suitable candidate shall fulfill the following job roles:
Support ZYP staff and partners to set up and maintain appropriate and robust M&E systems for all programme activities,
Support monitoring and evaluation processes using ZYP developed tools and provide guidance to staff and partners in their use,
Routinely perform quality control checks of monitoring and evaluation work, overseeing that planned monitoring and evaluation activities are
taking place,
Design, carry out and/or supervise consultants conducting evaluations across all programme areas,
Track planned evaluations and ensure that evaluation reports are obtained and shared to facilitate learning,
Help promote sharing of lessons learned from programme monitoring and evaluation to improve future programme selection, design and implementation,
Take part in monitoring and evaluation networks with other NGOs, GIZ, UN and other external partners, as well as with international M&E focal points, partners and beneficiaries to coordinate field monitoring and evaluation activities, stay current on best monitoring and evaluation practice and to support quality programming and accountability standards

Knowledge/Skills
• Very good knowledge of ICT (MS Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Internet)
• Strong planning and analytical skills
• Report-writing skills
• Data-analysis skills
• Very good oral/written English skills
• Very good communication skills
Job requirements/qualifications:
• Grade 12 Certificate,
• Minimum of a Diploma in Social Sciences, M&E; International development or related disciplines,
• Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities for fast-moving programs in complex environments, experience working in ‘emergency/hardship areas’ is an asset,
• Good knowledge and understanding of key aspects of development work
• Experience in programme reporting
• Practical experience with databases and statistics
• At least two years relevant and progressive professional experience in M&E.
• Not below the age of 25 years
