JOB DETAILS:
In pursuit of being a world class conservation area and premier tourism destination, KAZA TFCA Secretariat is looking for a Programme manager to join their team (The position is only limited to
Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe).
Position overall objective
This is a leadership position, and the Programme Manager is responsible for programme development and implementation as described under the heading specific tasks.
Minimum Experience
At least 10 years’ experience with a proven track record in managing large scale projects and programmes working with different donors and stakeholders including state and non state actors. Experience in managing multiple projects at a transboundary level will be an added advantage.
Minimum Qualification
At least a Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as natural sciences, ecology/conservation, agriculture, social sciences, project management and business studies.
Minimum Requirements
• Negotiation and networking skills and political sensitivity are essential.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and manage large-scale and complex programmes with ability to travel extensively especially in rural areas and work meticulously for long hours.
• Ability to efficiently identify challenging situations and offer creative and practical solutions to address these.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and must have ability to defend and explain key decisions of our client to stakeholders.
• Experience in information management, the production of audience targeted documents.
• Innovative and passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic and results-oriented personality.
Job Outputs
1. Programme Development and Implementation:
ARE YOU THE ONE?
Lead the conceptualization, development and implementation of the clients development Programmes and ensure that the programme achieves the desired impact.
2. Policy Implementation:
Review environmental conservation and tourism policies and legal instruments of our client partner States and formulate protocols aimed at harmonizing natural resources and tourism management strategies and practices of the partner States.
3. Technical support and Advice:
Monitor and evaluate implementation of our client Programme outputs and outcomes using qualitative indicators in the Partner States and take appropriate interventions that will ensure the programme remains on course and achieves our client objectives.
4. Resource Mobilization and Stakeholder Management:
Represent our Client and the interests of Partner States during negotiations and setup of various agreements related to conservation and tourism businesses.
5. Communication:
Ensure that information on projects is regularly updated on our clients Website.
6. Administration and Capacity Building
Develop strategies and programmes for building the capacity of government institutions, private sector and local communities through training, mentoring and coaching.
