Background
Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention is looking for a qualified, experienced and committed consultant in proposal writing to mobilise resources for the organisation.
Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention (AHDI) is a local non-governmental organisation providing early intervention through provision of physiotherapy and education to children with disabilities. It collaborates with government and other NGOs in the provision of these services to the children with disabilities, with activities in Lusaka, Southern and Eastern Provinces.
The vision of AHDI is “a world where children with cerebral palsy and others with allied conditions are protected and have access to early health and education intervention services within their communities” to enhance their enjoyment of all rights on an equal basis with others.
AHDI also partners with the communities in the delivery of services and has been advocating for better services for children with disabilities to ensure full inclusion and development.
While tapping into the potential for additional support from the organisational traditional donors as articulated in its current resource mobilisation strategy, AHDI seeks to diversify and enlarge its partner base and have a safe path towards sustainability.
In view of the above, the organisation seeks services of an experienced and committed consultant to develop various proposals in 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Write proposals on behalf of the organisation.
2. Revise the donor map compiled by AHDI.
3. Respond to calls for proposals in 2024.
4. Timely submission of proposals depending on the donor guidelines.
Academic Qualifications and Professional experience.
1. Should have an advanced university degree in business, commence, economics, social sciences, project management or any other relevant field.
2. Professional qualifications in fund raising, a masters degree in the relevant field or equivalent will be an added advantage.
3. Should have at least 3 years experience in donor management, identification and liaison.
4. Should have a proven track record/demonstrated success in writing proposals and grant applications that have been approved for funding.
5. Sound knowledge of the funding situation for developmental projects, funding cycles, proposal formats and application procedures for key donors.
6. Good analytical, negotiation, advocacy and communication skills.
Duration of Consultancy
Part time – when there are calls, extending over a period of one year.
