Our Client in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province is looking for a Workshop Technician to join their team for a job vacancy within the Mining industry.

Primary Purpose
The Reman Workshop Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, assembling, and testing components used in mining machinery. The role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in remanufacturing parts to support mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Component Disassembly and Assembly
• Disassemble and clean components, such as engines, hydraulic systems, and transmissions, for inspection.
• Assemble components to meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
2. Inspection and Diagnostics
• Perform detailed inspections of components to identify defects, wear, or damage.
• Use diagnostic tools to determine the root cause of component failures.
3. Repair and Maintenance
• Execute repairs, including machining, welding, and part replacement.
• Calibrate and adjust components to ensure optimal functionality.
4. Testing and Quality Control
• Conduct functional tests on repaired components to verify performance.
• Document results of tests and inspections.
5. Technical Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Provide detailed technical reports to supervisors.
6. Health, Safety, and Environment Compliance
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
7. Team Collaboration
• Work closely with other technicians and departments to meet project deadlines.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Turnaround time for component repairs.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Accuracy of diagnostic and inspection reports.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy machinery repair or remanufacturing, preferably in the mining sector.
