Retailer Relationship Management

Main Purpose
• Build effective relationships with prioritized retailers and gain business support to maximize Bayer seed and CP business, mainly targeting smallholder farmers
• Drive product availability for smallholder farmers in the region by order generation at retail level to support sell-out of key dealers
• Build Bayer and Dekalb value proposition at retail level

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
• Deliver the mission for the region together with the customer facing squad
• Jointly manage the regional P&L with the customer-facing team
• Ensure that the regional 90-day sales goals including budget are achieved
• Identify most strategic retailers in the area and build a relationship
• Manage the relationship with strategic retailers and assure order generation at retail level feeding key dealer sales
• Co-develop annual regional sales and marketing plans for the region with the team
• Link retailer activities to regional plans (marketing / sales)
• Ensure achievement of monthly sales plans.
• Conduct trainings at retail / point-of-sale level
• Assess data provided by sales staff in the region and implement agreed regional sales and growth strategies
• Identify business opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
• Identify volume and market share gaps/trends and feed into regional strategy
• Keep track of competitors activities and market changes and feed back to supporting units

• Cluster Commercial Lead
• Customer Facing Squad (incl. digital / customer interaction / …) / other regions
• Value Proposition Unit Support Squad
• ComOps Unit Support Squad
• Partnership KAM and Tender Liaison / (new business squad)
• Farmers, VBAs, Stakeholders, Channel & Business Partners

Qualifications & Competencies
• Bachelor Degree in Agriculture and/or Business
• Two (2) years of relevant experience in crop agronomy, seeds and pest control practices
• Sales experience.
• Solid agricultural knowledge and understanding of local market environment.
• Demonstrate Bayer core competencies: Customer Focus, Drives Results, Values Differences, Manages Complexity, Collaboration, and Instills Trust.
• Ability to collaborate/communicate with and develop internal and external partnerships.
• Ability to work well in smallholder farmer markets.
• Proficiency in English and Local languages
• Good Microsoft Skills (Excel / PowerPoint / Word) a prerequisite.
• Highly motivated, creative, dynamic, and well organized.
