JOB DETAILS:
  The Zambia National Farmers' Union (ZNFU) is looking for an outstanding, results oriented and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Economist.
The mission of the ZNFU is to promote and safeguard the interests of members as individual farmers, corporations/companies, purveyors and other organizations involved in the business of agriculture and related activities in order to achieve sustainable agricultural, economic and social development.
SENIOR ECONOMIST - LUSAKA.

  Job Responsibilities:
• Conducting research and policy analysis on a and diverse number of issues affecting the agricultural industry
• Producing user friendly agricultural and diverse number of issues affecting the economic data/statistics and information for agricultural industry use by the ZNFU and dissemination to members and other stakeholders
• Managing the statistical data requirement for the Research, Economics and Consultancy Unit of the ZNFU which include historical macroeconomic database, updating domestic/national, regional and global, economic trends of interest to the agricultural industry, updating input and commodity prices as well as commodity stock levels at national regional and global level
• Updating the agricultural enterprise budgets publishing and sensitizing members on good farming practices
• Identifying members' data requirements through relevant members' meetings
• Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure effective implementation of the ZNFU Strategic Plan as well as key program and project initiatives

  Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in economics from a recognized University.
• Master's degree will be an added advantage
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
• Strong analytical, modeling and writing capabilities as well as oral presentation skills.
• Excellent inter-personal skills.
• Use of versatile computer packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SPSS and Power Point is a pre-condition

Job Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in economics from a recognized University.

Job Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
