New Hope Waves is a non profit organization based in Livingstone, Zambia working to empower with skills, knowledge and opportunities to improve living conditions in the vulnerable communities through community based projects in education, sports, youth related programs and other community activities
New Hope Waves is implementing a comprehensive empowerment program for the orphaned and vulnerable children and youth in disrupting cycles of poverty among orphaned and vulnerable youth through a peer-led program in which participants help one another become safe and healthy, skilled for long-term success, and able to lead meaningful lives within a supportive communities through livelihood, child rights, education, hygiene and healthcare, food and nutrition and safe housing and connections in Livingstone, Zambia.

Summary Responsibilities
The Senior Field Faciliator (Program Manager) will manage all field level related tasks as stipulated in the job responsibilities below:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the auspices of the Executive Director where he/she will report to, the Senior Field Facilitator (Program Manager) shall in liaison with the supervisor;
• Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders including line ministries such as Education, Community Development and Social Services, Health, Agriculture, cooperating and technical partners to the Program.
• Support in the assessment of organizations capacity needs and lead coordination of capacity building support programs to project beneficiaries
• Raise the profile and visibility through media engagements and proper use of EIC materials in collaboration with Program field
• Represent the program at related meetings and events
• Coordinate the compilation of narrative and financial reports to meet internal and donor reporting requirements
• Assist in developing terms of reference for staff engaged on specific assignments for the Program.
• Assist in the hosting of monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and review meetings
• Assist in monitoring progress and implementation of annual plans for the program
• Acts as an ex-official during Programmes sub committee Board meetings
• Assist in organizing for meetings called upon by the Board, Executive Director and Corporating partners
• Provide over-sight and leadership to staff recruited under the program

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ professional experience in a similar position, preferably with a Civil Society Organisations
• Must have relevant experience in Orphaned and vulnerable children and youth related projects, programs and activities in communities.
• Experience in designing and/or implementing development programmes particularly those related to livelihood, education, child right, reproductive health rights, climate change, governance and social and economic justice
• Strong understanding of community development and its impacts on vulnerable children and orphaned children and other stakeholders in Zambia
• A good working knowledge of livelihood and other community development approaches
• Planning and facilitating implementation of project activities working with the youth empowerment groups with the stakeholders.
• Forecasting preparing and supervise activity based budgets with the youth empowerment groups working with the Program Field Facilatator
• Proven experience in community mobilization
• Strategic thinker, able to analyse and scan external environment to determine impactful actions for the program
• Ability to work independently and self-driven in a fast-paced, high time demand environment with highly time bound deliverables.
• Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully and creatively with limited supervision.
• Proven experience in strategic project oversight and coordination of complex projects.
• Proven experience in advocacy actions with strong ability to engage with the media and public
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including reporting, facilitation, and representation.
• Experience in managing and maintain a good working relationship with project beneficiaries.
• Knowledge of the relevant public donors’ regulations highly preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound judgment and decisions
• Proactive, resourceful, solutions and results-oriented
• Ability to work collaboratively with other organizations where Program is a member
• Good planning, organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills very and good communicator
• Ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Substantial experience in budgeting, budget/expense analysis, and accounting experience

Contacts/Key Relationships
• This role is expected to establish and maintain open, professional, and cordial relations with the COs internal and external customers. These include and not limited to.
Internal
• Key internal collaborations involve the Executive, sector leads, Program staff, Knowledge Management unit, and finance.
External
• Current coperating partners, potential donors, government Ministries departments and agencies (MDAs), other INGOs implementing similar to programs.

Minimum Qualifications
• Relevant academic qualifications preferably a bachelor’s degree in Education, Health, Development Studies and other related field.
• Qualification in mass communication and monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage
• Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing
