Senior Software Developer / Team Lead
Job Description
Dot Com Zambia www.dczambia.com , an award winning Zambian ICT company that was launched in 2009, is looking for a well-rounded Senior Developer who can tackle both frontend and backend development to take on the next gen. systems we are pushing, as well as several unannounced projects that should excite anybody who cares about locally developed IT solutions. The areas required can be summarized as follows:
• Web Application Developer with proficiency at the following
o Design and development of API layers
o Modern frontend development (React.js or react native, Angular, Bootstrap 3 or 4)
o Backend development (PHP) and Databases (Relational Database – MySQL / Non-relational Database -Mongo DB)
o Business Intelligence Packages, AI and Analytics Reporting Tools
• System Administrator with proficiency at the following would be a plus;
o Demonstrated experience working with AWS, Gitlab and related technologies
o Maintenance, configuration and management of operating systems, network servers and virtual servers
o Virtualization with oversight on infrastructure capacity, storage planning, and database performance
o Conversant with automated applications deployment processes
o Installation and upgrading of computer hardware components and software
o Troubleshooting hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
• The following would be a plus;
o Mobile App Development Experience- (Android app developer, iOS app developer)
o Experience working with NFC in Android environment
o Good at UI and UX design and Good customer support
The right candidates will have production experience (of 5 or more years) in the tech areas mentioned above, be self motivated, be a vocal team member who is more interested in the discussion than being right, be fiercely interested in the evolving landscape of development, and is potential team leader with good communication skills that will motivate those around them.
