This is an exciting opportunity to join our ministry’s trade development centre to teach tailoring to young adults through full time skills courses and be part of the development of a social impact fashion brand. Life Trust is a Christian ministry based in Kabwe. We have been committed to providing quality education for vulnerable children for over 20 years to transform their families and the surrounding community. Life Trust School Waya, together with our Empowerment Campus, is a centre of learning and living together, especially for the benefit of vulnerable children in Waya.

Job expectations:
To provide high quality tailoring teaching that will enable the students to produce garments that achieve the highest possible standards.
• Plan, prepare and deliver purposeful and productive lessons to assigned classes that meet the expectations of the tailoring curriculum.
• Encourage pupils and show enthusiasm for the craft of tailoring.
• Demonstrate an awareness of assessment for learning strategies and personalize the learning of all pupils, as appropriate.
• Help students improve their cutting/sewing technique by purposeful critique.
• Grade the students’ work according to the quality they have achieved.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness in tailoring atelier space.
• Manage assigned stock, materials and take care of tools, machinery, etc.
• Committed Christian looking to serve with a vision for Christian Leadership

Qualifications:
• High-level of English language proficiency
• Ideally, Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Ideally, but not necessary: certificates in both teaching and tailoring, valid practicing certificate from Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ), work experience as a tailor and/or teacher
