JOB DETAILS:
Position Summary:
• The WASH Officer at KFHIZ is responsible for spearheading efforts to improve health and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) Programs.
• He/she is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing health and WASH programs that align with KFHIZ organizational objectives and contribute to the overall well-being of beneficiaries.
• In this role, he/she will collaborate with health professionals, community leaders, and program teams to assess health needs and develop comprehensive strategies for disease prevention, health promotion, and WASH initiatives.
• He/she will be instrumental in planning and executing targeted interventions, ensuring the delivery of impactful and sustainable health/WASH services.
• The WASH Officer will also lead monitoring and evaluation efforts, collecting and analyzing data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Planning and Development:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, plan, and develop health and WASH programs that address community needs and priorities.
• Ensure program content aligns with public health standards and organizational objectives.
2. Implementation and Coordination:
• Oversee the execution of health and WASH programs, ensuring compliance with established protocols and timelines.
• Coordinate with field teams, health professionals, and community partners to deliver program activities effectively.
3. Capacity Building:
• Provide training and capacity-building initiatives for community members, local health workers, and program staff.
• Foster community participation and empowerment in health and WASH initiatives.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Establish and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact and effectiveness of health and WASH programs.
• Analyze data and feedback to inform program adjustments and improvements.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Cultivate positive relationships with health institutions, local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders.
• Collaborate with external partners to enhance program offerings and share best practices.
6. Budget Management:
• Assist in the development and management of program budgets.
• Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining program quality.
7. Advocacy and Community Awareness:
• Advocate for health and WASH issues within the community and at broader levels.
• Implement strategies to raise awareness and promote healthy behaviors.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of program-related information.
9. Training and Professional Development:
• Provide training and professional development opportunities for educators and program staff.
• Stay informed about educational trends and best practices.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, Water Engineering, Environmental Science/Engineering, or any other related field.

Experience / Competencies:
1. At least 2 years of working experience in the WASH field.
2. Technical knowledge and experience in solar-powered water systems.
3. Experience in Management and Monitoring of Sanitation facilities.
4. Proven problem-solving skills and exceptional stakeholder relations with both internal and external parties.
5. A well-organized and self-directed individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, high ethical standards, and operational focus.
6. Must be a dedicated Christian.
